Bleach Paintings
1987-Present

Beginning in early 1987 I first used bleach as a  paint substitute. It functions, then as now, as both a toxic or destructive agent, but also as a "cleansing" tool that "removes" previous meanings from the site of a painting, and leaves in it's wake a ghostly residue of the its own process.
